Chelsea Senior Citizens Activities Center is a 501 c (3) non-profit dedicated to providing activities that address the physical, social and emotional concerns of Chelsea area seniors and their families.  The Center offers adults 50 years of age and older a one stop place for health, fun and information as well as a social setting for enjoying lifelong hobbies and exploring new interests.

At Chelsea Senior Center you’ll find:

  •  Health and Wellness

Health and wellness is the backbone of Chelsea Senior Center programming.  Exercise classes meet 5 days a week incorporating stretching, light weight lifting, and cardio exercise.  Other fitness opportunities include walking our hallways or track, bowling and clogging.  Additional programs are designed to provide the tools for staying active and healthy in retirement.  Ask about our Total Wellness Program.

  •  Travel Near and Far

An extensive travel program provides fully escorted trips open to all.  One day jaunts include theater, sporting events, musical performances, casino visits, shopping and special destinations. Chelsea Seniors walk the Mackinac Bridge, cruise, white river raft, tour overseas and enjoy extended trips in United States and Canada.  Contact us for current travel offerings.

  •  Fun and Learning

Research demonstrates that laughter and keeping ones mind active contribute to a healthy lifestyle.  Opportunities for fun and for learning abound at the Senior Center. Regular activities include wood carving, stained class, computer club, puzzles, coin club, card games, stamp collecting, bowling, Scrabble, golf, laughter club, quilting, bridge, knitting, crocheting, movies, euchre, Wii Sports and Wii Fit, creative writing, Mah Jongg, book discussions, and more. Check our calendar for activity days and times.

  • Services

At Chelsea Senior Center diverse programs deliver information and offer support.  Seniors have found topics such as grief, Medicare, investments, green burials, disease management, advance directives, trusts, scams and identity theft especially valuable.  Staff is available to answer senior related questions and make referrals.  Contact us to learn about our telephone reassurance program, blood pressure checks, foot care, massage, tax preparation, flu vaccine clinic, and more.

  • A place to Volunteer / Re-Purpose Your Life

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Chelsea Senior Center. We welcome course instructors, craft leaders, front desk assistants, help with special events and fundraisers, and travel and program planning committee members. Please contact us for additional information about volunteer opportunities.
